The cameras have a modular design that allows to produce in the same package versions with different sensors, processors, and network interfaces. Now we used Texas Instruments DM368 processor and two types of sensors with wide dynamic range (WDR or HDR). There are all the standard features of a modern camera: a mechanical IR cut filter, h.264 encoder 1920x1080 30fps, ONVIF.

 

Now about features. As you can see from the picture the camera Sigrand SG-1C-111 and SG-1C-121 has two ethernet ports. Inside there is a three-port switch, which allows you to connect to the network up to three devices. One port connect to camera  MII interface and two another go outside. If one of the external ports connect to the switch, and the second  to another camera, we can get the serial connection. One switch port can use for  the chain of cameras. For power cameras in chain we use Passive PoE, power is supplied by two unused pairs and goes on through two external camera port which allows to transmit  a 2 Mbps video stream at a distance of 8 kilometers, via standard cables of 0.5 mm. To power the camera at a long distance we use a constant voltage on the signal line 240V. This is a fairly common technique PoDSL (Power over DSL). To connect the camera by this  technology used the module MS-17H4P2 .

Maximum number of cameras in the chain depends on three parameters: the power of PoE injector, cameras energy consumption and the distance between them in the chain. If used as a PoE injector module MS-17E8PP  60W per channel, you can connect up to 12 cameras, with not a great distance between them. If the distance between the cameras is the maximum for Ethernet 100 meters, the number of cameras in the chain is limited to 5-pieces. The length of the chain, from the switch to the last camera, will be 500 meters. This is possible because cameras can work at a reduced PoE voltage (around 30V). We call this connection "through" PoE or PoE-through. Camera Sigrand SG-1C-112 and SG-1C-122 have a built-SHDSL modem,

Housing have integrated microcontroller and can  be configured via RS-232. There are three temperature sensors. We can control the inside and outside  temperature and diodes temperature. To cool the diode array uses a powerful radiator and two fans. The housing has two working modes - autonomous and controlled via RS-232. In standalone mode, you can use the camera from any manufacturer that supports PoE. There are many parameters for setting and control: the thresholds for power lighting , the power distribution between the camera and projector, the fans turn on and off and so on.  If the housings used with Sigrand cameras, then all the processes can be managed via a web interface, as well as serial connect multiple housings to one port of the switch, used PoE-through technology.

The basis for distributed video surveillance system with remote power is Sigrand SG-17S switch. The only device on the market with the ability to use different interface modules - SHDSL or Ethernet.

 

As standard, comes with power supply 240 watts and two ports 10/100/1000BASE-T/SFP. Allows to connect up to 32 video cameras with Ethernet interfaces (PoE class2 - 7,5 W), up to 16 housings with lighting  (PoE - 15,4 W) and up to 16 PoDSL cameras.

Now, some  information about the modules for the platform SG-17S: the maximum up to 4 units per switch, interface support PoE and  PoDSL.
   

MS-17E8PP (8 x 10/100 Ethernet PoE+)
8-port module PoE. Power remote devices on unused pairs ( Passive PoE mode). Maximum power up to 60 watts per channel.
MS-17H4 (SHDSL 4 x 15,2 Mbit)
4-port SHDSL module. The maximum speed for each interface up to 15296 Kbit  per one pair.

MS-17H4P2 (SHDSL 4 x 15,2 Mbit PoDSL)
4-port PoDSL module. The maximum speed for each interface to 15296 Kbit per one pair. Provides remote power 240VDC. Maximum power of connected devices is up to  17W.

 

There are many cameras and housing can be connected to one Sigrand SG-17S switch, using the different modules. It’s allow covering almost all range of distances between cameras and switch.

 

If you need to connect and supply power to one PoE camera at a great distance, you can use our new SHDSL modems Sigrand SG-17B-261 and SG-17B-351.
SG-17B-351  takes the power from PoE and injects it into the SHDSL line (PoDSL 240V), and SG-17B-261 receives power from SHDSL line  (PoDSL 240V) and injects it to PoE.

5. Modular router + switch + NVR  Sigarnd SG-18S, the powerful network processor freescale P10xx/P20xx, 3 ports 10/100/1000BASE-T/SFP, three expansion module, HDD rack, power supply up to 1000 watts. Theoretically it is possible to connect to the device and powered up to 200 cameras. As the software will use the modified version http://momentvideo.org/.
6. VDSL2 modems and modules for the cameras, and switch.
7. White or infrared illuminator with adjustable power up to 15 W, powered by PoE and the ability to connect to the chain.
